The Biennial Wissahickon Photo Contest 2026 is presented by Friends of the Wissahickon, Wissahickon Trails, and Woodmere Art Museum. The photo contest kicks off April 1 and the deadline for submission is October 15. Winners will be announced October 29.

The International Monarch Monitoring Blitz invites community scientists from across North America to come together with the shared goal of helping to protect and conserve the beloved and emblematic monarch butterfly. Join Senior Naturalist, Kristy Morley at one of the sessions to monitor milkweed plants for monarch eggs and caterpillars as well as adult monarch butterflies. No experience necessary, all training will be done on-site.

Come and enjoy the beauty of Armentrout Preserve and get a workout in at the same time! Power hiking involves going as fast as possible without actually running and while maintaining a strong and smooth form. This monthly hike is for those looking to improve their fitness, efficiency, and endurance while navigating paved and dirt trails. The group will do a total of 60 (intense) minutes on the trail and will start and end back at the entrance to Armentrout Preserve.

This limited release brings a taste of the Wissahickon watershed to the taproom, with a portion of proceeds supporting Wissahickon Trails. Come enjoy the first pour, spend time with the community, and pick up a pack to bring home!
These volunteer stewardship days will primarily take place within Penllyn Natural Area where we will conduct a series of projects designed to enrich the health of the plant and animal life of the preserve and improve the experience of trail users.
