Join us for an easy, family friendly bird walk at Willow Lake Farm. This walk will be focused on those just starting out watching birds, but all skill levels are welcome. We will cover some important how tos, such as using binoculars and how to identify some common birds of our area.
Take a tour of Montgomery County's only water-powered gristmill and see corn grinding in action, a blacksmith demonstration, and a community science display all about our Monarch program.
Take part in the 25th anniversary of Walk the Wissahickon and experience the beauty of the Green Ribbon Trail through Montgomery County. Choose from 3 hike lengths – 4, 7, or 12 miles - along our longest and most popular trail. Wissahickon Trails’ staff and volunteers will lead you along the natural, unpaved* trail through diverse wetlands, woodlands, and meadows as you follow the Wissahickon Creek.
Help Wissahickon Trails learn more about monarch butterfly migration and contribute to several national citizen science projects that monitor monarch population status. Join us to help net and tag migrating monarchs, and learn more about the fantastic migration of these butterflies.
Join us as we work to improve and restore habitat at Overlook Elementary School in Abington. We'll be planting native trees and shrubs along the Sandy Run, and may also do a bit of invasive species removal. Tools and gloves provided, but feel free to BYO.

Orienteering is an outdoor navigation sport where participants use a map and compass to find check points along a mapped course. It's a fun challenge for any age; (beginners are welcome) and we provide the tools and around 30 minutes of instruction at the event, then the course takes 1-2 hours to complete.

This is a new 4-mile hiking taking us through beautiful landscapes and varying terrain: the creekside Green Ribbon trail, an old mill site, the Highlands historic mansion, and the wonderful Willow Lake Farm trails.
