Meet and park at the Four Mills Barn. From there we will hike north on the Green Ribbon Trail to Penllyn Woods, where we'll connect with the County Trail that will take us to Crossways Preserve. After a short break, we'll retrace our steps to the Barn.

Called “the art of map and compass reading,” this recreational activity dates back more than 100 years by using “low-tech” tools to navigate the landscape. This program is designed to be an introduction to orienteering, and no prior experience is required.

Gala
Come enjoy a serene section of the watershed on this 2 mile hike. This loop hike will begin and end at the historic Evans-Mumbower Mill, traveling through Natural Lands Gwynedd Preserve, across two stream crossings and on the Green Ribbon Trail back to the mill.
Come learn how to create a safe haven for birds in your yard. We will discuss setting up a feeding station, taming feeder “pests”, preventing window collisions, and what plants are best for birds.
Learn how to navigate the many smartphone apps available and find the best ones for specifically for enjoying nature and engaging in citizen science projects. Join Senior Naturalist Kristy Morley to learn more about how to find and identify wildlife, capture sound recordings, take pictures and videos and report your sightings.
Participate in the 124th Audubon Christmas Bird Count! Join Wissahickon Trails staff and explore Four Mills Nature Reserve to count all the winter species we see and hear.
