Volunteer for the 51st Annual Wissahickon Creek Clean Up on Saturday, April 24. This is the perfect outdoor event to show your support and love for a clean Wissahickon watershed, while keeping safely physically distant from others.
Volunteer
Family Friendly
Teams explore the Wissahickon Watershed in friendly competition to identify as many species as possible during this fundraiser, collecting pledges for each species to help support our conservation efforts.
Birding
Philadelphia and its adjacent counties (including Montgomery!) will compete against other cities in the world to see who can find the most species in their regions. Download the iNaturalist app on your phone and document the species present on Wissahickon Trails properties and help Philadelphia come out on top!
Nature Program
Learn the art and history of early American blacksmithing, and see the smithy forge tools from scrap iron right in front of you.
Local History
Join us (virtually) to help document the species on our preserves using iNaturalist. A BioBlitz is a community-science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. We have designated 5 preserves that we are targeting to collect species information from, so grab your phone or camera and start observing.
Get your feet wet as we explore the Wissahickon Creek in our Four Mills Preserve. We will search the creek for aquatic life and learn how they help us understand the health of the creek.
Take a tour of Montgomery County's only water-powered gristmill and experience many hands-on, family-friendly demonstrations.
