As creatures of the night, owls are harder to get to know than other birds and an encounter with one is always memorable. Join Senior Naturalist Kristy Morley for a comprehensive look at what makes owls so special. We’ll focus on the owls of the area and learn about the physical and behavioral adaptations of owls that make them some of nature's most accomplished predators. Learn how to find owls and respectfully observe them in the wild. We'll start with a walk to try and catch a glimps of our resident owls, and then return inside for the rest of the program.

Accessibility Information

The walk will be approximately 1 mile over fairly flat natural trails (roots and stones common) at a slow walking pace, with multiple stops for standing and listening. Access to trails requires crossing two bridges with multiple steps, additionally two short stepping stone crossings are on the route. Restrooms are available.
