One-Hour Power Hike (March)

Come and enjoy the beauty of the Green Ribbon Trail and get a workout in at the same time! Power hiking involves going as fast as possible without actually running and while maintaining a strong and smooth form. This monthly hike is for those looking to improve their fitness, efficiency, and endurance while navigating paved and dirt trails. The group will do a total of 60 (intense) minutes on the trail and will start and end back at Penllyn Woods Community Building.

Elevation change: less than 200ft

Trail surface(s): Dirt with roots, rocks, and dips; stepping stone creek crossing, segments of pavement/road

Pace: Fast– roughly 15 minutes per mile

Features: Stream crossings

Amenities: Restrooms NOT available. Many sections of the route are shaded, but we will also be walking through areas with no shade.

Habitat: Forest, commercial, residential

What to bring: water, sun protection, durable shoes
