Mill Open House & Fall Festival

Saturday, September 14 at 01:00 pm

Local History

Family Friendly

Celebrate traditions from times past at the Evans Mumbower Mill's Fall Festival. Local artisans will be on site demonstrating historic methods of craftsmanship and visitors will have opportunities to make crafts of their own! You will also be treated to a tour of Montgomery County's last remaining water-powered gristmill and witness how simple machines helped power a factory before the advent of electricity.

Join us in welcoming two local artists:

  • John Bangor of Tastefully Peened Ironworks will be on site demonstrating the art and science of blacksmithing.
  • Wendy McClure will explain the process of collecting wool, spinning it into usable thread, and the impact it had on colonial life. Kids and adults alike can try their hand at carding the wool and even take some raw fleece home!

The Evans-Mumbower Mill is located on the Wissahickon Creek at Swedesford and Township Line Roads in North Wales, PA. Click here to see a map.

We are happy to offer this program at no cost to participants, but if you are able, a $10 suggested donation would be greatly appreciated. Wissahickon Trails is a local, community-supported nonprofit. Our budget depends entirely on the generosity of our supporters—individuals, foundations, and corporations.  Donate online today.
