Our inaugural Creek Clean Up was held in 1970 to coincide with the very first Earth Day! Join us in celebrating both events by helping clean the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, and local trails on Saturday, April 26th. This is the perfect volunteer event to get outside and show your support for a cleaner watershed.
All volunteers choose a pre-assigned section of the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, or a section of trail. Maps (including parking, cleaning boundaries, and trash drop sites) can be found on the registration page. Please note that this is a self-guided volunteer outing and you will join other volunteers in cleaning your section.
Day-of Event Details
Most participants begin cleaning around 9:00 am, but that time is flexible. Report directly to your assigned section and leave your trash in the designated areas no later than 1:00pm (remember the picnic is held from 11am-1pm - more info below).
Be prepared to get wet and/or muddy. Volunteers are asked to clean both the surrounding trails and in the creek. Old shoes, rain boots, or waders are suggested.
Supply Pick-Up
Registered volunteers can pick-up their bags and supplies the week leading up to the event at 12 Morris Road, Ambler, PA 19002 during any of these dates and times:
- Tuesday, 4/22: 11a-3p
- Wednesday, 4/23: 11a-6p
- Thursday, 4/24: 11a-6p
- Saturday, 4/26: 8a-9a
