Help us document the biodiversity at Briar Hill Preserve using iNaturalist. City Nature Challenge is a global celebration of biodiversity in and around urban areas. Over 3.3 million observations and over 73,000 species were identified by 102,945 participants in 2025. We will work to document as many trees, plants, animals and insects we can find at Briar Hill.

Participants should bring an electronic device with iNaturalist downloaded and a free account already set-up or a camera. Dress for the weather and be prepared for muddy and wet trails.

For those unfamiliar with iNaturalist, see this video on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjlWTDR_tSA

Accessibility Information

Participants will need to walk approximately 1 mile along an uneven natural trail. Participants will need to take photographs from a variety of levels, and should be prepared to go slightly off trail as well. Port-a-pot is available in the parking lot.
