Wissahickon Trails will be hosting monthly Serve The Preserve days and we invite you to join!

For this month's Serve the Preserve, we'll be heading over to the Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve in Ambler. Last year, an accessible viewing platform was installed and native wildflowers and grasses were seeded around it; we need your help to pull invasive, non-native mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) that's popping up before it has the chance to take over. This project will involve kneeling/squatting, and pulling plants, including on a slightly sloped area, in full sun.

Serve The Preserve will take place from April - October, so if this particular date does not work for you, we encourage you to join us next month! Registration is required so we know how many volunteers will be helping us each day.

Access Information

Participants will need to walk a short distance along a dirt trail to the work site (less than 0.5 miles). Work may include digging, hammering, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Exact tasks will vary depending on the project that day, we will share more specifics with those that register.

Please note that there are no restrooms available.
