eBird is a community science platform where you can record bird observations. It keeps track of your life list, helps you discover new birding locations, and shows you what other birders in the community are finding. In this virtual program we will focus on the main functions and tools of eBird so you can learn how to submit your observations, discover birding hotspots, and explore recent sightings.
We’ll also spend some time discussing how to add pictures, recordings, and other media to their checklists, as well as using eBird and Merlin Bird ID together.
Participants are encouraged to sign up for an eBird account if they do not already have one by visiting eBird.org and clicking the green “Create Account” button in the upper right corner, but this is not required prior to the program.
Please note: Participants who already have an account through another project such as Merlin Bird ID, Great Backyard Bird Count, Project Feederwatch, Nestwatch, or Bird Academy can use the same information to log in to eBird.
