Connected Wissahickon: 5 Mile Armentrout to Briar Hill Hike

We invite you to explore the connections between our Armentrout and Briar Hill Preserves. This guided hike will be approximately 5 miles and will highlight the trail connections and new wayfinding signage that will navigate you through multiple preserves. This route will showcase the best way to make the most of the route, and we estimate the hike will take 2 hours, culminating at sunset.

 

Accessibiltiy Information

Elevation change: less than 200ft

Trail surface(s): Primarily dirt with roots, rocks, and dips. Sections of mowed grass. Occasional short, steeper slopes.

Pace: Moderate – roughly 25 minutes per mile.

Features: Exciting trail connections between preserves, wildlife sighting opportunities, wilderness vibes.

Amenities: No restrooms. Full or partial shade for the majority of hike, with some stretches of unshaded trail.

Habitat: Old growth and successional forests, meadows.

What to bring: Water, sun protection, durable shoes, on-the-go snack.
