Hike

All Hikers

B)2019 Jamie Stewarti

**Update 10/5/22: This hike has been cancelled.**

Wissahickon Trails and The Highlands are holding a 3 mile hike led by Harm Scherpbier  (duration 1.5-2 hours).

All hikers will meet in The Highlands’ parking lot and begin on the newly mowed walking trail, loop through Willow Lake Farm, and explore some unmarked and undeveloped trail paths on the return to The Highlands. Join us in enjoying these beautiful open spaces we are fortunate to have and look for wildlife along the way.

Please wear long pants and sturdy footwear. We kindly ask you to leave your pets at home. The undeveloped trails are mostly flat, unpaved, narrow, natural trails. They are not mowed, but the grass has been flattened by use. No bathrooms or benches will be available.

The Highlands Mansion & Gardens is an historical estate that was built by Anthony Morris in 1796. It was a private residence for three different families until it was sold to the state in 1970. The Highlands Historical Society formed in 1975 and has opened the beautiful home and gardens to the community for educational programming, private events and peaceful walks for all visitors.

We are happy to offer our programs at no cost to participants, but if you are able, a $10 suggested donation would be greatly appreciated. Wissahickon Trails is a local, community-supported nonprofit. Our budget depends entirely on the generosity of our supporters—individuals, foundations, and corporations.  Donate online today.
